"Poverty cannot wait for the economy to develop a human face. Without humanitarian assistance, our world runs the risk - which every now and then materialises - of having material poverty producing a type of human poverty that in turn will foster other catastrophies and other wars. In the absence of humanitarian assistance, the child of today will know only violence and desperation.
Our challenge is to place men, women and children in conditions of hope, of self-esteem, as human beings with values, hopes and aspirations."

We envisage a just world where people's dignity is ensured, human rights are respected, and basic needs are met regardless of race, gender, religion or politics, in a spirit of solidarity.

Mission Statement
hopeXchange is an international humanitarian aid organization dedicated to the integral development of people, and the fostering of charity and justice in the world. Through education, healthcare and sustainable development, hopeXchange is committed to the advancement of marginalized people, to the reduction of poverty and the empowerment of the weak and oppressed to become agents of change.

hopeXchange is the humanitarian initiative of the Institute for World Evangelisation - ICPE Mission.



 
DID YOU KNOW?
 
1. The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the poorest 48 nations (i.e. a quarter of the world's countries) is less than the wealth of the world's three richest people combined.

2. Less than one percent of what the world spent every year on weapons is needed to put every child into school.

3. The developing world now spends $13 on debt repayment for every $1 it receives in grants.

4. According to UNICEF, 30,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they "die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death."

 
DEVELOPMENT
 

Human development is about much more than the rise or fall of national incomes. It is about creating an environment in which people can develop their full potential and lead productive, creative lives in accord with their needs and interests. People are the real wealth of nations. Development is thus about expanding the choices people have to lead lives that they value. And it is thus about much more than economic growth, which is only a means-if a very important one-of enlarging people's choices.
