Some forty million African primary school-age children currently do not have access to school. Critical lack of adequately equipped
and supervised basic schools has been identified as one of the major barriers that deprives children of their right to receive at least
basic education.
Improvements in the fields of education should therefore be considered as important as improvements in the access to proper
health care. An improved quality of life and the availability of choice are essential to equipping people with a capacity to understand
the need for change and the notion that it is possible for communities to intervene and change their economic and social
environments.
